Author: Abhik Sengupta According to reports, Apple will soon introduce new iPad Pro models featuring an M2 CPU. Mark Gurman, a respected Apple analyst and Bloomberg journalist, predicts that the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models will be unveiled before the end of this month.
According to the expert, the new tablets may be unveiled before October 27, which is just before Apple’s Q3 2022 earnings call. The MacBook Air 2022, which debuted earlier this year, was the device that initially featured the M2 processor.
The rumour also states that the iPad Pro with M2 will resemble its predecessor in appearance. That implies that we will continue to use Apple’s flat-edge design, which hasn’t changed in more than three years. However, the initial iPad Pro model from 2015 was only made for three years.
Similar to the present iPad, it had large bezels, a home button, and a single back camera. Gurman points out that the entry-level iPad will eventually do rid of its bezels and switch to a USB-C port from its proprietary lightning port. Apple is still working toward producing iPhones and iPads without ports, he continues.
Whether the new iPad normal will debut this month along with the iPad Pro 2022 remains unknown. The first iPad version of iOS 16 — iPadOS 16.1 — is expected to be released by Apple around the week of October 24.
The new MacBook Pros, according to the report, “are on track to launch in the near future,” but probably not this month. A more powerful M2 CPU with additional cores, the M2 Pro and M2 Max, may be used in the new MacBook Pro 14 and 16 when they go on sale in 2019. The M2 version of the Mac mini, which will be the first update to the company’s tiniest Mac in two years, is another project Apple is rumoured to be working on. Apple TV with an A14 processor and 4GB of RAM may be released shortly. The previous Apple TV had 3GB of storage and an A12 processor.
Finally, a new iPad dock is allegedly being developed by Apple. The dock that Google recently unveiled for its future Pixel tablet would be comparable to this one. The tablet will essentially be able to serve as a smart display for home accessories with the help of the dock. The iPads will compete with the Amazon Echo Show if this is true.
